I dont know if I should have but today I joined Twitter! Anyone else on there? I dont really get it. My friend Rosie persuaded me to becuase she said she was following Ewan on it for me, and I am kinda dubious that he would be on something like that so curiousity got the better of me... Like I really have time to twitter along with everything else lol

So I'm on there - KittyKar is me lol Karker was taken!!:O:O How dare someone steal my moniker lol rofl I felt a bit like bursting into song singing "I am the one and only" Chesney Hawke style LOL

Oh I am in a good mood today even if the ironing pile is huge!!

Oh I had a happy day yesterday, my friend is a manager of a cosmetics department in a large store and she called me up and said "I have got a load of promotional stuff in for a new fragrance with a certain someone on it? Do you know who it is?"

and I laughed and said "er davidoff adventure with Ewan?"

(I think she was disappointed she hadnt beaten me to it)

anyway, the good news is she says I can have ALL the promotional stuff when she is done with it! (then she laughed and said if they had a life sized cut out of him then I had to make my husband come and pick it up!!!! - just to be evil on her part- and make him walk through the town with it)

so, if I get anything good my scanner will be working overtime to share it with my friends!

Oh, and she is keeping a bottle aside for me when it comes out! :P Wonder if Graeme will want to wear it?? hee hee.

My 1st visit to London!

Thank you everyone who wished me a happy birthday and of course, to Shellie for wishing Trish a happy birthday on my behalf xhugsx

What a great weekend I had!!!

We started off on Friday morning, after getting the kids sorted, and we made our way to Glasgow airport! We were cutting it a bit fine but we got there in time! I was panicking that we would miss the flight, or it would be delayed etc due to the bad winds etc. When we got to the check in desk we were told the flight had been cancelled! I couldn't believe it - just my luck! They managed to get us on another flight which was leaving at about the same time as ours was but landing at Heathrow instead of London City. I wasn't really caring as long as we got there!!!

Once we got to London, we got the underground to Picadilly and we found Trafalgar Square quite easy and could not believe our hotel was right on the square!!! The views were fantastic and the rooms were lovely. We threw our stuff in the hotel and headed out for the night. We decided that we would try and find the Donmar Theatre (where we were going on Saturday) and ended up walking round half of London before Graeme would finally admit defeat and get a map!!! We found the Theatre, a 5 min walk from our hotel!!!! It was just a wee place tho. We went to Soho and Picadilly to see the lights at night and we walked past Downing St and Westminster Abbey and past the Houses of Parliament and eventually went back to the hotel. It had been a long day and tomorrow was my birthday and I was looking forward to it. We had planned more walking! for the next day and then an early dinner and then Othello!! I haven't been so excited about my birthday for years. We woke in the morning and I phoned the kids before breakfast and then we set off again!! We walked a bit more and toon the sights like Buckingham Palace etc and then we got the bus to Kensington and went to Harrods and did a bit of shopping! We later went on to Oxford St and we did a bit more shopping and we went into the Apple shop and Graeme bought me an ipod nano that I have been wanting for a while for my birthday! We decided to walk back towards Covent Garden and check out the market. Later we had dinner in a nice wee place in Covent Garden before getting ready to go to the Theatre.

We got the theatre a wee bit early so we had a drink in the bar and I was a bit nervous of the fact that I was standing in the same building that my hero was! Graeme had never been to the theatre before and I was worried Shakespeare might be a bit ‘heavy’ for him. Graeme was winding me up - as per the norm - and making me worse. We finally went to our seats and I was surprised that the theatre was smaller than I had expected! We sat and had a laugh at some of the patrons of the theatre, there were some right strange looking folk!!! Then they asked everyone to turn off their phones etc...all of a sudden Ewan McGregor was bounding on the stage sword in hand, I almost fainted I wasn't expecting it so suddenly. Graeme was being a twat and nudging me that much that I nearly knocked the woman next to me into next week. I could not believe how close we were to all the actors! The play itself was fantastic and Graeme really liked the leading lady, Kelly Reilly, but I think it was her boobs he liked best!!! haha

Ewan was Fabulous beyond words and I could not get over how alike his hair colour was to my Graeme's. I was close enough to see that he had quite recently had his hair cut, and I could even make out his tan line!! Lol! I was very impressed by the rest of the cast, in particular Tom Huddleston (Cassio) who shone brightly and delivered an excellent performance. Chiwetel Ejiofor (Othello) scared the bejesus out of me whenever he spoke, he was very comanding and forceful in his portrayal of ’the Moor’. I was less impressed by Kelly Reilly until the end scene where Othello strangles her, she played it well! I loved that the whole cast would run between the audience back and forwards! But our Ewan played the baddie for all his worth and brought many a giggle to the audience with the thrusting of his cod piece when describing to Othello what his wife ‘allegedly‘ took part in with Cassio!! (haha) There a few words to describe how in awe I was at him, 14 or so years I had waited for a chance to see him in person and I got my wish! I was not disappointed one bit. At the end of the play Iago (Ewan) is slashed by Othello's sword and I jumped a bit when it happened so Graeme noticed and took the p*** out of me for that!!!! Graeme said he really enjoyed the play and surprised himself that he was able to keep up with the fast pace of the whole play!

At the end they all took a bow and I saw Ewan wink to someone in the audience and I realised it was his gran!

When it was over we waited in the theatre lobby in hope Ewan would come out at the end. There was about 30 folk standing waiting. All the rest of the cast came out and then we saw Ewan's Uncle, Denis Lawson and Ewan's Gran come out and then they went back in again. I nudged Graeme and told him who they were - he doesn’t have a clue - and when they came out again, I politely asked Denis Lawson for his autograph which he obliged and I looked to my left and Ewan's granny was standing beside me and I said hello and she smiled at me!!! They left and then the theatre manger came out and said everyone had gone. A few wee lassies who were standing in front of me asked where Ewan was and she said he went out another door. I was a wee bit disappointed but not as much as Graeme was...he said he wanted me to meet my hero on my birthday but I understood, he would have been there ages if he had signed autographs and posed for photos with all these folk, and his gran was in town so he would want to see her, and it was 11 o'clock!!!

I was quite happy just to have been in the same room as him for my birthday!

That night I hardly slept thinking about what a great day I had. We were due to be up early next day to checkout of the hotel and make our way to the bike show.

We slept in!

With half an hour to get ready and leave we rushed about and I looked a right state!!! we got the underground x2 to the Excel centre and went to the bike show. Thankfully there was a left luggage area so we dumped our bags there and headed off to look at all the cool bikes we want but cant afford! We got the 'Live Stage' and I noticed that Charley Boorman (Ewan's mate co-star of Long Way Round/Down) was due to appear so we took a seat on the rough carpet next to the other bikers and waited. When Charley came out I coudn't believe it. I was almost as close to him as I had been to Ewan the night before. We were told that Charley would be signing at the BMW/Touratech stand so once the chat ended, Graeme and I took to our heels and headed for BMW(which was where I wanted to go anyway to look at my dream bike!) When we got there I turned around to talk to Graeme and Charley was right behind me, I went to speak to him and then a official numpty told me to stand in the queue. So we did, and I had to buy another copy of the LWD book for Charley to sign (3rd one I have bought now!) and we stood and waited while others had their photos taken. Graeme and I had a good giggle at the man in front of us who had, LWR book, LWD book, Race to Dakar Book, plus 4 DVD covers (LWD/LWRx2/Race to Dakar) for Charley to sign. Graeme said that if I had brought all my stuff for Charley to sign we would be here for about a week! The queue was enormous and I was glad to be near the front .

Finally, it was my turn and I gingerly walked over to Charley and told him how we had come down from Scotland to see him and that I had been to Othello the night before. He asked if I enjoyed it, and I said yes. and he said 'the girl is very good isn't she' and I laughed and said 'well I wasn't really looking at her!' and Charley laughed and said 'oh right' we stood and had a long conversation about biking and I told him I was considering doing my CBT and he said I should and that his wife is about to do hers. We talked a bit about Eve and her adventure. We talked about his new adventure and he was surprised that I knew all about it! He was so lovely and really nice and took time to talk to me, then he signed my book "To Karen, big kisses, Charley" and I asked for a photo with him which he was happy to, and I nearly died when he put hs arm around me. I couldn't help thinking how Louise would have melted on the spot if he did that to her. I asked him if he was coming up to the Scottish bike show and he said he wouldnt make it this year, so I am glad I went to the London one!!

All in all I had a fab weekend, and it is one I will never forget!!!!!

OMG as if going to London next week to see my fav fella in Othello wasnt enough....Graeme and I decided yesterday that seeing as we were gonna be in London we might as well take in the MCN Bike show while we were there....(even thoughwe are going to the Scottish one anyway).

Well, I was reading through the list of stalls etc and almost died when I saw that my other fav fella (Charley Boorman) is going to be there with his BMW which was used on LWD!!! *shriek

So maybe, just maybe, my dream will come true and I will meet both of them in the one weekend!!!

OMG my friend Louise is going to die if I meet her dream man (Charley) and she doesn't!

What a birthday weekend this could turn out to be!

I am all for fun and little ones getting lots of chocolate but they havent finished their Christmas sweeties yet! And I object to being the bad mummy for saying NO all the time :( Its just not on.........

Been a few days now since I posted on the Ewan Playground about the time I first found Ewan....

and it got me thinking about all the encounters my family and friends have had with Ewan, and I haven't even come close, well except for that time at school when I did work experience at Kings Park School, but he wasn't famous then, his mum was just the headteacher....I got an email from his mum, but it isnt the same is it? Firstly, there was my Dad's brush with Ewan....

Then there was my Stoopid brother-in-law, who stood beside Ewan in the loos at the Stereophonics gig in Glasgow, who telephoned me to tell me minutes later, without thinking of saying to Ewan, can I get your autograph for my sister?? Twat!!! And of course, my wee pal Daniel, his dad is a friend of Ewans and arranged for Dan to go down to London and see Ewan in Guys and Dolls(Daniel wants to be an actor) and then he was invited to visit Ewan backstage(!!!!) and he said Ewan was lovely and gave him loads of advice about starting out and where to study at and everything! I constantly tell Dan I am sooo jealous of him!

My boss' cousin used to date Ewan, and then dumped him - silly cow! bet she regrets it now haha! Everyone here in the village where I live seems to know the McGregor Clan (except me) and have some sort of ties with them - if you didnt know already, I live not far from Crieff - and then there was my fandom stalking moment.....

Where I spotted Ewan on his bike and followed him up the road.....as described in my blog.....

"Karen is in her car on a bright summer's day the windows are down, kids in the back, the cd player is on full blast (Moulin Rouge Soundtrack) and she is singing her wee heart out.....stops at the roundabout..even though it is her right of way...she waves a biker on in front of her....he has an open face helmet on and he laughs and smiles at her and waves thanks....and she just dies cos she realises it is Ewan Mcgregor on his new bike that she read about him buying last week..arrggghhh so what does Karen do???? chases him down the Crieff Road to get another look and lost him !!! Sad or what????"

And now, I am preparing for my visit to London to see Ewan star in Othello......I am beyond excitement thinking about myself sitting in the same room as 'HIM' on my birthday!!! OMG I have been waiting a LONG time for this.....Maybe finally I will get to meet the man I have been watching for so long....and not act like a crazy woman!! haha

It has to be my turn one day? Hasn't it????

I am sooo excited right now cos this time tomorrow I will be getting ready to go to the Take That concert at the Glasgow SECC!!! Am really acting like a 12 yr old and dunno yet if it cos I am going to the concert or the fact that I will be on a bus with a load of my girlfriends getting extremely drunk or that I dont have to look after kids for two days!!! yipee

They are lovely, but they aint Ewan are they???

omg!!!!!!

I just cannot believe I missed Charley Boorman at Dublin Airport on Friday. I even had my LONG WAY DOWN T-Shirt on!!!!! arrrghhh if only my plane had come in a few hours earlier....

anyway, I was able to get a signed copy of Race to Dakar so it eases the pain.......(my friend Louise - who fancies Charley to bits - even rubbed the chair he sat on lol)
I would have bought a signed LWD too but I had got it (paperback) in Edinburgh and Graeme would have killed me cos I got the hardback coming from amazon so another copy would have sent him flying through the roof!!!!!! All I need now is to get a Ewan autograph and I can die happy

This is me (above) today lol. It is now 2.45pm on Sunday afternoon and I am sitting here in my pj's & dressing gown....how bad is that.
